Daniel MacPherson shows off his new-found glow thanks to new love and a less hectic schedule

It was the sun and surf that enticed Dancing with the Stars and Beat the Star host (and all-round star himself) Daniel MacPherson to commit to a morning with OK! – nothing else, he tells us as he cruises into the shoot with suitcase in tow, would have seen him onboard. You see, Dan might be in town to work, but he’s just visiting (hence the luggage), and plans to be back in Noosa – where he has just brought a home – shortly and intends on putting his usually hectic schedule on hold to spend some time in the slow lane, growing a beard included...
So how’s life treating you right now?
Life is very, very good. Life has been really busy for the last four or five months and now I’m actively trying to wind it down. I’ve just finished Dancing and Beat the Star, so now I’m living by the beach and attempting to grow a beard.
And we hear there’s a special someone – The Xtra Factor hostess Natalie Garonzi?
It’s been a big couple of months in my life… There’s stuff going on but it’s probably a little bit too soon to say, I think. She’s certainly a very dynamic personality.
You just finished filming The Cup, a movie about the Melbourne Cup. What was it like working on your first feature film?
It was an incredible experience. I’m a huge horse racing fan; I own race horses… My grandmother taught me to gamble when I was five. I love racing, and to be riding a thoroughbred and learning how to be a jockey was an amazing experience.
