DEMI LOVATO: 'REHAB HAS MADE ME A BETTER GIRLFRIEND'
Demi Lovato has managed to turn a challenging experience into a positive one, after admitting her stint in rehab has made her a better girlfriend.
The singer, who previously dated Joe Jonas, 23, and Wilmer Valderrama, 33, checked into a treatment centre for emotional issues, following a breakdown while on tour in South America in 2010. She has since confessed to battling an eating disorder and a self-harming habit.
As well as learning to put her emotional issues behind her, Demi, 20, claims she has also become a better person, which will pay off for her next relationship: ‘I can finally trust and love and be a better person for the man I am in a relationship with, instead of being a clingy girlfriend or getting jealous,’ she says. ‘It is very unhealthy when girls devote all of their time to a guy and forget their friends and family. I did that. I was always looking for distractions because I was so afraid of being alone.’
